Profit/Loss Calculator

Entry price, exit price, amount, fees — your exact net P/L in dollars and percent.

Applied once on entry and once on exit.

P/L is proceeds minus cost basis — fees included on both sides

Cost basis is what you actually paid to get in (price × amount, plus the entry fee). Proceeds is what you actually walked away with (price × amount, minus the exit fee). The difference between them is your real net profit or loss — not the naive “exit price minus entry price” that ignores fees eating into both ends.

Why the percentage matters as much as the dollar amount

A $500 profit means something very different on a $1,000 position than on a $50,000 one. The % figure here is P/L relative to your cost basis, which is the number that’s comparable across trades of different sizes.

Frequently asked questions

Once on the buy (added to your cost basis) and once on the sell (deducted from your proceeds) — matching how most exchanges charge a taker/maker fee on each side of a trade, not just once overall.

Use your volume-weighted average price as the entry or exit — (Σ price × amount) ÷ (Σ amount) for each side. That collapses multiple fills into the single entry/exit price this calculator expects.

No — only a trading fee % you specify. If you paid on-chain gas to swap (rather than trading on a centralized exchange order book), add that separately to your cost basis before comparing.
